Authentic Experience

A True Kiwi Tradition

Whitebait fishing on the West Coast is as iconic as New Zealand itself. Standing in the cold, clear flow of a bush-lined river with your whitebait stand net — this is a deeply authentic slice of Kiwi culture that few visitors ever get to experience.

We take you to established stands on prime West Coast rivers during the season, providing everything you need for a memorable day on the water. Your fresh catch can be cooked up riverside in classic whitebait fritters — a true West Coast delicacy.

Our local guides know these rivers intimately, having fished them for generations. They'll show you the traditional stand-netting techniques, the best tides and flows to target, and the spots that produce season after season.
